A large memorial near the Coconut Tree Prison honouring the prisoners of war who died in captivity on the island. Sculpted figures and a tall monument mark the sacrifice, and it's a quieter, more reflective counterpart to the prison museum down the road. It won't take long, but visited together with the prison it rounds out the island's war history. Free and open to walk up to. Pair it with the prison museum rather than making a separate trip, keep it respectful, and read a little of the history first so the memorial means something when you stand in front of it.
