Phu Quoc National Park

Protected forest covering much of the north of the island — a UNESCO biosphere reserve of evergreen jungle, streams and wildlife, and a complete change from the resort strip. There are marked trails and dirt tracks for hiking and motorbiking, with the Gành Dầu coast and quiet beaches on the far side. It's raw and lightly developed, so bring water, fuel and a downloaded map, and don't expect much signage. Best in the dry season when the tracks are firm. Go with a guide or a rented bike if you want to get properly into it rather than just skirt the edge.
